"Metacafe Adds a Hub for TV"

Story of Note
  Source: The Wall Street Journal

Metacafe knows it isn't YouTube ... and it can't take on Hulu ... so it's best option is to collect and showcase TV detritus?

Metacafe's TV clips channel will feature extras, behind-the-scenes footage and show highlights ... from CBS (one network whose content Hulu links to but doesn't stream itself), Showtime, the CW, TBS and TNT. Shows include "The Closer," "Saving Grace," "Saturday Night Live," "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Soup," among others.

The only way I can see this working is if Metacafe employs an intense curation strategy that aggregates the best clips surrounding certain topics. Otherwise, it's nothing more than a graveyard for DVD extras.
